Palazzo dei Servi di Maria

Built between 1841 and 1847 to provide space for rented shops on the ground floor and, on the upper floors, the building was connected to the Fattoria dei Servi di Maria (Farm of the Servants of Mary). Here lived a monk belonging to the monastery of Sant'Antonio di Pisa (St. Anthony of Pisa), called the "Agente di Compagnia" (Representative of the Brotherhood) who managed the assets of the various property in the hills with the help of his confreres.
Lari's farm provided one of the main sources of income for the Pisan monastery. A chapel was built nearby or within its walls.
