Villa Melani

Built in the first half of the eighteenth century, this villa was designed by the painter and architect Francesco Melani. In the second half of the same century, the villa was passed on to the cavaliere Gaudenzio Mazza who, in 1761, in the place of the ancient church of San Nicola, built the elegant chapel dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Bari and Saint Anne that still stands today. In 1848 the villa was purchased by A. Bendinelli and then subsequently divided among his heirs. This division caused the original layout to be lost.
